Industrial Group Subsidiary Restructuring and Value Chain Optimisation

Engagement Lead and Senior Restructuring Adviser · Industrials · Indonesia · US$ 18M+ Value Creation

Simon was appointed directly by the board of one of Indonesia’s leading industrial groups to lead a restructuring and value chain optimisation mandate following a period of organisational complexity and margin pressure across its subsidiary and affiliated entity network. The board’s objective was clear: streamline the group’s operating structure, eliminate inefficiencies that had accumulated across a diversified portfolio, and sharpen the focus on EBIT performance and strategic alignment with the parent group’s core mission.

He directed the engagement end-to-end across subsidiaries spanning distribution, transport, packaging, mining, and related services, conducting strategic reviews, leading board and senior management interviews across key entities, and directing the analysis underpinning the recommended restructuring pathway. The work identified duplication, capability gaps, structural inefficiencies, and opportunities for consolidation, stronger management systems, and improved execution across the wider group.

The mandate produced a practical restructuring blueprint spanning corporate structure, management improvement, value chain optimisation, and strategic partnerships, designed for implementation across a complex multi-entity operating environment.

The mandate delivered US$ 18M+ in estimated value creation over five years through cost reduction, operational consolidation, and improved execution across logistics, packaging, quarry inputs, and support businesses.

Strategy first, damage control second. Simon is the expert you need for both.
